If you have a small lawn e.g. below 50m2, then many of our products can simply be applied fro the bag. However, if you have a large lawn e.g. above 50m2, then you’re best bet would be a spreader.
Spreaders come in many forms and are programmed to sow different sized granules at different application rates depending on the settings.
So, if you’re unsure which setting yours needs to be on, then it’s best to check the manufacturers guide based on the granule size and recommended application rate.
However, this article gives you recommended settings for many of our products depending on which spreader you’re using. If yours isn’t listed or the suggested settings don’t match your spreader , then please let us know using the comments below. I’ll be happy to help in any way I can.
If you haven’t bought a spreader yet and you need to find out which one is best for you, have a read of my other article – Best Lawn Fertiliser Spreaders Compared

Re: your response to Michal – Search your blog? What article? I will not type more or I will let my annoyance show. So bad…..
Hi Emily, I have many ‘how to’ articles, which are written for different purposes and I was unsure what product he was trying to apply. Wasn’t meant to come across rude.
I have a spreader that comes from B&Q
I buy my lawn products based on price and not by brand
I am really spreading and ‘hoping’ that the setting/ m2 is correct.
I had hoped for a better article on ‘how to’
It depends what product you’re applying as to how to use your spreader. Search my blog for the product you’re trying to apply and it may say how to spread it within the article. If not, then I probably haven’t got round to writing it yet. Will get there one day though.
