Our clay soil lawn feed is a specially formulated NPK fertiliser for use on domestic lawns in the UK. It’s designed to quickly improve the soil composition and help the lawn stay healthy during the growing seasons – Spring & Summer.
It’s a bio-stimulant fertiliser that provides an organic source of nitrogen, potassium, other trace elements and significant levels of amino acids.
Amino acids help protect against stress and promote recovery from harsh weather conditions and mowing, as well as the use of pesticides.
When and where to apply our Clay Soil fertiliser
This product is perfect for applying throughout the growing season and is suitable for applying in dry conditions.
That makes it a good choice as a Spring & Summer lawn feed.
Only suitable for use on lawns over 10mm (1 cm) long.
You can use it on any soil type and is especially suited to Clay soils because of it’s high organic content. It’s ideal for applying to stressed areas and areas that are undergoing seeding or overseeding.
When applied during warm weather, the nitrogen won’t be released until the rain returns meaning you can apply it in dry conditions too.
Our organic formula means you can apply where dogs, cats or children play without being concerned about immediately watering the product into the soil.
When to expect seeing results from our organic fertiliser
The nutrients are designed to quickly break down into the soil, so it provides rapid benefits to the grass itself (or the sward as it’s truly known). You should start seeing results within 2 weeks of application.
The amino and humic acids encourage development of the soil’s microbiology and create nutrient complexes that can help improve soil structure, increase the availability of nutrients and contribute to the ongoing health of the turf.
How long the nutrients will last
The longevity of the nutrients depends a lot on soil conditions and biological activity. It is classed as a quick/standard release (4-6 weeks). As it is an organic plant-based product, the release will be naturally slower do to the nature of the nutrients. You could probably expect this to last 4-10 weeks, all depending on the soil conditions.
How much clay soil fertiliser to use
The optimum application rate is 30g per m2. Always weigh the product and measure your lawn according to the guidelines.

Tommy P –
I didn’t have high expectations because of my experience with organic products in the past but this really did delight. In just a few days I noticed a surge of growth which must have been down to the 10% Nitrogen content. The grass has stayed green even though drought. I will definitely use it again. Thank you!
Matt Adams –
Thank you for your feedback Tommy. It’s very much appreciated. Cheers, Matt
Dan T –

George C –
After first using I decided to apply to part of lawn I had missed.
I noted that my spreader had become damp and the residue in the spreader was also damp
Decided to hand spread but obviously used too much and scorched the lawn.
Tried overwatering but this did not work. Must be more careful in future, but confused as to why fertilizer had become damp.
Matt Adams –
Hi George, thank you for your valuable feedback. Organic products are definitely more susceptible to holding dampness than non-organic products and it can sometimes be worth letting them air out in a bucket before use. We always recommend measuring and weighing out carefully when using our lawn feed products because of the risk of nitrogen scorch. Many thanks, Matt
